Michael and I watched Anatomy of a Fall this weekend. We both really liked it. It’s a courtroom thriller. A woman is charged with murder after her husband dies in a fall under suspicious circumstances. Their son, who was also at home when it happened, is visually impaired so he’s not a reliable witness.
The lead actress is great; she was nominated too. And so is the child actor who plays the son. The script is excellent. I think it’s a surprise that it won because it’s rather rare that a non-English-language screenplay wins (although the film is in both French and English, actually).
Poor Things: T and I will see it, but I’m worried that it’ll be one of those movies that gets raves from critics but is trying to hard to be unique.
Killers of the FM: why not want to see it (?) I missed your comments if you explained earlier!
The Bear: I agree it’s great overall and love many of the people in it, but be aware… Season 2 Episode 6 where it’s a flashback of a Christmas dinner. Omg it is sooo intense!
