Song of the day:
Video of the day:
It’s Monday and my first post in well over a week. Did you miss me?
I’m still on vacation this week and don’t have much planned other than staying home and relaxing. I hope you all had a great Christmas, however you chose to celebrate. I enjoyed a week in SoCal and had a great time. You can find pictures of my adventures on Instagram. And if you don’t follow me there, well, why not? Here’s a brief summary:
Space Shuttle Endeavor
The Art of the Brick
Hamilton
Disney, Disney, Disney
Friends
Laughter
Rain
Food
Shopping
Fun
While the week was mostly great, there was sad news that started it off. The husband of one of Frank’s (my mom’s husband) daughters passed away a week ago today. He’d been quite ill for the last year and a half but had seemed fairly stable recently. In fact, they visited my Mom and Frank the Saturday before Christmas and I got to FaceTime with them and chat for a couple of minutes. It’s hard to believe he’s gone. If you’re the praying kind, life a prayer for his wife, Kathleen, and for the whole family. It definitely made the holidays a bit more subdued. It was another stark reminder of just how short this life we’re given is. I hope I never take the time I’m given for granted.
As we approach a new year, still in the midst of a global pandemic, I wonder if it will be another year like this one. Could it be better? Might it be worse? If we don’t get this virus and its myriad of variants under control I suspect it might be worse. Please, if you haven’t done so already, get vaccinated. And if you’re already vaccinated, please get your booster shot.
I knew it was risky to travel last week but felt safer since I’ve been vaccinated and have my booster. Still, I worse masks with filters (or double-masked) and my new goggles (in lieu of a visor). I did my best to distance from others and sanitized and washed my hands a lot. I also took at-home rapid COVID-19 tests before I left and every day while away. I took another yesterday and will take another today and tomorrow. I stayed in all day Sunday and am doing the same today. I want to be sure I’m okay after being around so many people and being on an airplane.
Please do everything you can to protect yourself and those around you. We are the only ones that can stop the spread of this virus.
Finally, leading up to the new year, I thought I’d do a Top Ten list every day (instead of just on Tuesday) with various Top Tens from the year. So, here we go…

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings
tick, tick…BOOM!
