Song of the day:
It’s Thanksgiving Eve…otherwise known as Wednesday. I don’t think people actually say Thanksgiving Eve, do they? (Narrator in my head: No. They do not.)
I’ve always liked Thanksgiving. It’s a nice pause before the Christmas season hits its stride and a good time to think about what’s important, what I’m thankful for. And sometimes it’s the little things, like being thankful that I don’t have to wear shoes to work these days. But mostly it’s about the bigger picture…there are so many things for which to be thankful…
I’ve been able to work full time throughout the pandemic
I’ve been relatively healthy this year
My family is mostly healthy
I have the best friends on the planet (Narrator: Seriously. There is no debate here.)
I could go on and on and on…
Each morning I do a short meditation through the Calm app and today’s reflection question was a good one: Which of life’s simple pleasures spark contentment and joy in you? A few of mine are…
A friend or family member’s laughter
New books and that glorious new book smell
Taking a Christmas ornament out of the box and remembering when I got it
Dogs playing - honestly, I could just say dogs
Kamala Harris saying “I’m speaking.”
I’d love to know some of your simple pleasures…feel free to share in the comments.
I hope you all enjoy Thanksgiving, even if it looks a little different this year.
Until next time…
