Song of the day:
TV Tuesday
The season finales of the major network shows have aired, and in some cases those were the series finales. But there are new shows on various streaming channels so there is no shortage of things to watch.
Let’s talk about Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney+. Has anyone watched it yet? I absolutely loved the first two episodes! There are only supposed to be six total in this limited series event, but I’m hoping they will do more, as I know I won’t want it to end. It’s no secret to anyone that knows me that I did NOT like the prequel Star Wars movies (episodes I, II and III), but I did like Ewan McGregor as young Obi-Wan. I’ve always like him as an actor and thought he was a great choice for the role. It’s fun to see him playing the character again, and I like learning about what happened between that last prequel and the actual first movie (the original Star Wars). I like the Inquisitor characters; they are excellent bad guys. I’m excited to see where the series goes.
In addition to new shows there are also always a lot of shows in reruns, and I’ve been watching a lot of Gilmore Girls lately. It’s on UP TV all the time and I recently caught both the first and last episodes. I own the whole thing on DVD, mind you, but it’s just so much easier to watch it when it just happens to be on TV. And since I’ve seen every episode approximately 742 times, I can jump in anywhere. I loved this show when it first aired and still enjoy a lot of it. But there were decisions the show made that made me mad at the time and I’m still mad about them today. But the writing is still so good and there are some truly touching moments in every season. Some of it feels dated but most of it still holds up. Now, that four-part year-in-the-life thing they did a few years ago? That was terrible and never needs a rewatch. Anyone else out there a GG fan?
How about you? What are you watching these days?
Video of the day:
last night I finished season one episode two. I am liking it and I'm like you in that I didn't care for the sequels that followed the first three. Currently enjoying Ozark and Outer Range.
