Song of the day:
Video of the day:
TV Tuesday - in which I talk about a TV show I’m watching now or have watched in the past. Something different…we’ll see how it goes.
I’ve binged a number of shows in the last year or so - gee, I wonder why? - and after finishing all the Marvel shows, as well as some other Disney+ and Netflix shows, I decided to dive into a series I’ve been hearing about for years, Heartland.
There are 13 seasons of Heartland on Netflix and another that just started on UPTV. That’s a whole lot of episodes! As IMDB says, it’s a “multi-generational saga set in Alberta, Canada and centered on a family getting through life together in both happy and trying times.” In other words, it’s basically a nighttime kind of soap opera set on a ranch. And there are horses and bad boys and mean girls and well, you get the picture.
I’ve finished the first season and am a few episodes into the second and I can definitely the say the second is more soapy than the first. The first season was very much like a family drama with tragedy and triumph, love and war, and so on. The second is more involved, more complicated, and at times quite frustrating. But I’m definitely invested and try to avoid the trailers for season 14 on UPTV (where I watch a lot of Gilmore Girls and Reba reruns).
It’s pretty impressive for a show to be on this long, no matter what kind of show it is. I rejoice that there are so many seasons because it’s definitely going to take me some time to get through them.
Has anyone out there watched this series? Would love to know your thoughts…but no spoilers please! :-)
How ‘bout you? What are you binge-watching these days?
Today is…
