Song of the day:
Top Ten Super Bowl Halftime Performances
I know we’re still a few weeks away from the Super Bowl but Janet Jackson is going to be on the Kelly Clarkson show today, and her documentary is premiering on Lifetime this weekend so I’ve been thinking about her and the Super Bowl performance and how it impacted her. After I watch the documentary this weekend I’m sure I’ll have a lot more to say about that. Until then…here are my Top Ten Super Bowl Halftime Performances:
Prince (2007)
Bruno Mars (2014)
U2 (2002)
Coldplay (2016)
Lady Gaga (2017)
Michael Jackson (1993)
Soul, Salsa & Swing with Stevie Wonder, Gloria Estefan, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Savion Glover (1999)
Salute to Motown’s 40th Anniversary with Boyz II Men, Smokey Robinson, Martha Reaves, The Temptations and Queen Latifah (1998)
The Weeknd (2021)
Aerosmith & NSYNC (2001)
Oh, and in case you’re wondering, here’s a list of all of the halftime shows over the years. And I’m pretty excited about this year’s show. We’ll see how it measures up.
What are some of your favorites (if you bother to watch the halftimes)?

As for Super Bowl halftime, I didn't see any of the halftime shows from 1993 to 2005 as I watched most of the Super Bowls at church where they showed the evangelistic videos during halftime. I also didn't listen to secular music during this time, only Christian music. So, my perspective is a little skewed.
Then, I missed most of them from 2006 to 2008 as I was working swing shift.
That said, my favorites tend to be based on how many of the songs I liked, so my favorite was Lady Gaga (sadly, I missed Prince's 2007 show)
1. Lady Gaga
2. Katy Perry
3. Maroon 5
4. Shakira & J Lo
5. Coldplay
I either didn't see, don't remember, or didn't care for the others
