Happy Birthday to Me! Yes, I turned 55 earlier today, which is completely weird to be honest. Like I’ve lived five and a half decades. What?!
I’ve done literally nothing today since it’s extremely cold in NYC, but I did enjoy just sitting on my hotel bed reading a great book - The Magic of Lemon Drop Pie by Rachel Linden. I also got some breakfast in the hotel restaurant, but their heat wasn’t working so I didn’t stay long. I do have fun plans tonight, though. I've got a reservation for steak at a cool-looking restaurant called Bond 45 and then have a ticket to a little Broadway show you might have heard me mention once or twice or fourteen times before…oh yeah…it’s happening…
Yesterday was fun, albeit also very cold. I visited the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Complex where I got to see the Space Shuttle Enterprise. I’ve now seen three of the remaining shuttles, which is extremely cool. I don’t know that I can bring myself to go to Florida to see the fourth one because you know, Florida…
After warming up in the hotel - and taking a short nap - I went to dinner and another musical. This time I saw Moulin Rouge, which I’d seen in San Francisco twice, but had to catch it here since the Tony-award winning lead actor came back for a couple of months to reprise his role. And it was worth it. He was amazing, and the show was great. The staging was different and extremely cool. I’m so glad I decided to add this show to my itinerary!
Suffice it to say this trip has been great so far, and there are still two more days to go! I’m hoping to catch up with a couple of friends while I’m here and have a few more adventures planned as well.
More to come…hope your weekend is fabulous so far!
