Well, today’s the day. By the time you read this I’ll be on the road to Colorado. I can’t quite believe it’s finally here, but I’m ready to go. California has been an incredible chapter in my life, and I have more memories than I can count. I came into my own in California, became the person I was always meant to be, learned a lot and had a lot of fun. I made lifelong friends, had an incredible career, went to concerts and Broadway shows and hockey games, and did my best to make the most of the last 26 years.
I honestly don’t know how the last seven-ish months moved so quickly. When I made the decision to retire and move last November it seemed like I had tons of time. And things were moving along at a normal pace for a while. And then, in early May, it suddenly felt like I was on a speeding freight train that not even Keanu Reeves or Sandra Bullock could stop. Time moved so fast that I barely had time to breathe. I had to make arrangements for the move, pack some stuff I wanted to take myself, purge stuff I didn’t want to take, and make several trips back and forth to Colorado between things. I had to figure out how to wrap up more than 20 years of work and transition everything to others. I had to start saying goodbye. I’m thankful I was able to see so many of my friends over these last few weeks; I’m only sorry I couldn’t see everyone. I will miss you all more than you could possibly know.
So off I go on this new adventure…more to come soon.
