Song of the day:
Video of the day:
September 22nd…or as I like to call it, Nathan Angelo Day.
Nathan is one of my favorite musicians, and if you listened to the song above or watched the video, you can see that he is exceptionally talented. Having him perform in my living room (see the video above, plus a few others on YouTube) was one of the best things ever, and I hope I can make it happen again one day.
I believe it was actually Todd Carey, another great musician, who introduced me to Nathan’s music, and I’ve been lucky enough to be able to see him in concert several times over the years. My friend Lalaine and I even flew to Dallas one year and surprised him at a random show, which was super fun. But there’s nothing quite like a house show, and this was one of the best. I highly recommend having one of your own if you can.
I guess it’s technically fall now.
Sure. Okay. Meanwhile, it was still 95 degrees here the last two days so whatever. What even is fall now? I guess it’s football and baseball, and it’s definitely hockey, but the weather does whatever it wants. It’s shorter days and longer nights. It’s pumpkin and leaves and turkey, but again, 95 degrees. What’s that called again? Oh right. CLIMATE CHANGE. Yes, that’s real.
Anyway, it is fall and there’s definitely a different feel in the air. Maybe it’s the thought of wearing a jacket on a cool evening, or actually needing a light blanket at night. Maybe it’s knowing that the Charlie Brown Halloween special is coming or that you can get your favorite candy in the fun size. Maybe it’s knowing that Christmas is just around the corner and you can think about getting the trees out. That last one might be just me.
But it’s here, and in the blink of an eye it’s going to be 2022. And that is absolutely bonkers. On the upside, The Jetsons was supposed to take place in 2062 so that means at some point in the next 40 years we will all have flying cars. Woo hoo!
Okay, I think that’s enough rambling for one day. Hope you have a great September 22nd!
If blood's flowing through my veins
And there's air to breathe, life to live
Then I've got a song to sing
On this normal day, September 22nd
