September
Or as I like to call it, month 19 of working remotely and wondering if this pandemic will ever end.
In theory, my staff will start going back to campus in a hybrid mode toward the end of this month. The move of our stuff from one building to the other is scheduled for September 20, so we’ll see how that goes. As far the pandemic ending? Yeah. That’s not happening. I’m wondering when it stops being a pandemic and become endemic. Because that seems like where we’re headed, which is horribly sad considering the fact that vaccinations are available for everyone 12 and over…but I digress.
Later this month we will mark the 20th anniversary of 9/11, and that boggles my mind. At times it seems like it just happened and at others it feels like it was 50 years ago. Time is so weird. I’ve already started seeing news stories and posts about the upcoming anniversary, especially in light of what is happening in Afghanistan, and I’m sure there are a lot of remembrance activities planned for the actual day. I’ll probably write more then. But honestly, as horrible and terrifying as that was, I think we’re living in a much scarier time now. It feels like a civil war could break out at any moment and I have no earthly idea how that would end.
But this wasn’t supposed to be a sad or scary post. This was supposed to be a “Hey, it’s September!” post. Anyway…here we are…in September. At least it’s one day shorter than August…

Do hope you are able to get back to campus with not many difficulties. Let's see...when will I get back to a campus?
