Song of the day:
Rather than write another post about 9/11, I will link to the post I wrote two years ago on the 20th anniversary of one of the worst days in our history.
Earlier this year I visited the 9/11 museum in New York and learned so much more about that day and the days and months, even years, after. The artifacts from that day were difficult to look at but important to see. It made the devastation of that day so much more real. Being in the place where the towers fell was surreal. It was beautiful and peaceful, which felt wrong at some level. It was heart wrenching to see the door to the room where remains are still being identified all these years later. I can’t imagine having that job but am thankful for those doing the work so that families can have some kind of closure.
I shared a few of these images earlier this year but wanted to share them again today as so many reflect on what happened in 2001.
