Song of the day:
I hope you had a great weekend. I hope you found time for fun, time with friends or family, and most importantly, time to rest and reset for the week ahead.
My weekend was good, busy, productive, fun and a little bit restful, too. I met up with a friend for lunch and finally made it to the theatre for The Batman. More on that in a minute. I got several loads of laundry done, made a run to the grocery store, started a new book, bought two other books, and started watching Daredevil on Disney+ (now that all the Netflix Marvel shows have moved I decided to get involved). I sat in the sun and lounged on the couch and even got a little a work done. Oh, and more importantly, I got my taxes done. Finally. If you haven’t done yours yet, no worries. You’ve still got a little time.
Okay, The Batman. Overall I enjoyed it, but it’s definitely not my favorite of the Batman movies. It was dark, like really dark, and Robert Pattinson brooded extremely well, as I expected he would. But it was long, almost 3 hours, and it didn’t need to be. It could have moved more quickly in the beginning. I actually nodded off to sleep a couple of times in the first half hour, and I’m pretty sure I didn’t miss anything important. I’m glad I saw it on the big screen as it’s definitely the kind of movie that’s better in that environment. But it’s not a movie I need to see again, ya know? Michael Keaton is still my favorite Batman, followed closely by Christian Bale. But I’m glad I saw it because I would have wondered about it if I missed it. Did anyone else see it? Let me know what you thought in the comments.
I’ve got another busy work week ahead, as most of them are these days. Between Monday and Tuesday I have 12 hours of Zoom meetings. Try not to be too jealous. At least I don’t have much in the evenings this week; it’s always nice to just be home.
Anyway, since my first meeting is at 8:30 I better get my life in order.
Have a great day!
