In case you were wondering, COVID IS THE WORST. I tested negative on Monday but still have a low-grade fever, a wicked cough and tightness in my chest - although that’s getting a little better with a supplemental inhaler. I tried working from home for a few days but now the doctor has put me off work through Monday. I had a chest x-ray this week (see photo below) and there’s no pneumonia but they want me to see a pulmonologist as there’s something they don’t like on there. I can’t get an appointment until March 7 though so who knows if that will even be helpful. I did some blood work this week, too, as my doctor wanted to check on my white cell count but according to my expert review of the results - because I’ve earned my MD while home recuperating - everything looks to be in the normal range. The doctor agreed and wants me to do the same bloodwork again in 2-3 weeks. yay. Meanwhile, my doctor is now on vacation so I’ll have to deal with someone else to release me back to work next week, provided the low-grade fever subsides. I AM FRUSTRATED (in case that wasn’t obvious).
I’ve watched more TV than I know what do with including, but not limited to:
On Apple TV+
Dear Edward - new show, I’m all caught up; highly recommend
Shrinking - new show, I’m all caught up; highly recommend
Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me - really good; I didn’t know much about Selena Gomez other than I liked her in Wizards of Waverly Place and I’ve liked some of her songs; I admire her for being open and honest about her physical and mental health
On Hulu
Only Murders in the Building - binged the first two seasons; so good!!
On Netflix
Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio - so good! highly recommend
Grace & Frankie - just started this one and so far, so good; I mean Fonda and Tomlin are comedic geniuses so how could it be bad? plus The Mother said it was excellent
On Amazon Prime
Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul. - this was just okay; some funny parts but overall just meh
On HBO Max
Spotlight - I remember wanting to see this movie when it came out but missed it somehow; really good
Starstruck - a friend recommended this one but I couldn’t get into it; I’ll try again another time
The Other Two - a friend recommended this one, too, and I liked the first few episodes but then it felt stressful so I stopped; might come back to it at some point
Other
Creed - got this one free from Xfinity; had been wanting to watch it and it was good, not great, but good; now I have to decide if I want to pay to watch Creed II before someday watching Creed III
Waiting to Exhale - got this free from Xfinity; it still holds up and the music of Babyface is still magnificent
Bones - came upon a marathon of Bones on BBC America and watched a whole bunch of episodes; forgot how much I loved this show; might need to rewatch the whole series soon
So that’s how it’s going over here. Tastebuds are coming back, thank goodness, but there’s still not a lot that tastes good. My bed and my couch are super comfy and I have cute pajamas, so it’s not all bad. Also, it’s still festively decorated in here so that’s something.
Thanks to everyone who’s reached out to check on me. It’s a slow process but I’m getting there. Now, back to my programs…
Praying about the Covid stuff. Try not to worry.
