Momo
I discovered Momo on the internet a number of years ago. I fell in love with the #FindingMomo photo series and started following Momo and Andrew on their adventures. I bought their books and watched their popularity rise. Momo was a great dog, but as we all know, the lives of our pets is finite, and today Momo is crossing the rainbow bridge. Here’s some of what Andrew posted about his friend when he broke the news on Instagram yesterday:
Today, Momo will be taking his last road trip…tomorrow morning I’ll celebrate his life with some close friends and let him pass on from this earthly plane. His struggles have become unjustifiable and irreversible. His quality of life is no longer there, and I had to make the best decision for him. It’s the single hardest choice I’ve ever had to make.
I can’t begin to express how much this dog has impacted my life, and countless others. I’m a wreck, but grateful to be able to process this with him by my side.
Dogs are wonderful creatures that none of us have ever deserved. But how lucky we are to have them grace our lives, even for a short period of time.
I got the joy of meeting Momo (and Andrew) a few years ago when they came to sign their new book and talk about their adventures. It was truly one of the greatest book events I’ve ever been to. Tucked into a corner of Hicklebee’s Books in Willow Glen, this sweet dog entertained young and old, took pictures with fans for what seemed like hours, and put his sweet paw on all the books.
Farewell, sweet Momo. You were one of the best.
Y’all, this has been a rough week and I’m ready for a little downtime this weekend. I’ve got a book to finish, a Lego set to complete, some TV to binge, and these gorgeous flowers brightening up my living room. There is always joy, even in the saddest of times. See you soon…
