Song of the day:
I got the news last night that a friend’s dad passed away after a battle with cancer. In her words, “…he fought the good fight but tonight he entered eternity.” What a blessing to know that there is life after this one, that we will see our loved ones again someday. News like this reminds me that life is very short.
I haven’t seen my friend in quite some time, and we’re not as close as we used to be due to our lives going in different directions, but my heart aches for her and her family just the same.
I used to work for her dad, and he was one of the first people I met when I started working at SJSU. I hadn’t seen him in years, but I’m still sad to know he’s no longer with us. My friend said her family was with him as he passed and that it was incredibly peaceful.
We know that death is the end of our life on earth, and it’s always harder for those that remain. Those that leave us are dancing in heaven living their best possible life with Jesus. I take comfort in that. Without my faith, I don’t know how I’d get through any of it.
So to my friend and her family, know that you are being lifted up in love and that you are not alone in your sadness. And to those who know this pain personally, I send you my love and a big virtual hug from across the internet. It’s only been a few months since we said our last goodbyes to Frank, and the ache is still deep.
Life is short, friends. Even when our loved ones live a long time, it’s never long enough. Don’t take a single moment for granted.

Apologies about yesterday’s video - it worked when I posted it, but then I guess they made it private. Sorry about that.
So sorry to hear about your friend. You're right about one day we will see them again.
