Song of the day:
Fair warning before you watch this video, the song is ADDICTING! It’s also awesome and you should totally watch the video. Multiple times. As the kids say, it’s a bop! Do the kids still say that? It doesn’t matter. This song is pop music perfection and I can’t get enough of it! I’m pushing play again…
It’s Friday!!!!
It’s been a weirdly long week, mostly due to work, but also because it’s been so blessed hot here. I was absolutely not ready for two 100+ degree days this week. There was just no need for that this early in the summer. I’m scared for July and August. My A/C is getting a workout, and I’m sure that PG&E bill will be a delight. I know it’s pretty much been hot everywhere so I hope you were able to find a way to stay cool.
I don’t have much planned for the weekend - thank goodness, because last weekend was kinda bonkers. I think the only thing on my calendar is a mani/pedi, so I might actually be able to get some things done around here. Or I might just catch up on TV and reading. We’ll see.
What about you? Any weekend plans?
I’m thinking of going to see the Elvis movie even though I was never an Elvis fan. I’m intrigued by this Austin Butler kid, but I’m not sure I can stand creepy Tom Hanks. Anyone seen it yet? Anyone planning to check it out? Let me know. Maybe I’ll just go see Top Gun Maverick again…it literally never gets old.
#FridayReads
I’m currently reading a fun book called 13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson. If you like young adult novels about quests designed by a favorite, albeit eccentric, aunt, then this book is for you. I’m really enjoying it! I also just learned there’s a sequel so yay!
Earlier this week I finished The Surprising Power of a Good Dumpling by Wai Chim. This is another great YA novel, set in Australia with a Chinese teen trying to navigate life with her two siblings, a mostly absentee father, and a mother in the middle of a mental health crisis. It’s fun and quirky, heartbreaking and sweet. And there’s a little romance thrown in, too. But fair warning, it will make you want all the Chinese food.
What are you reading this weekend?
Video of the day:
I think that’s as good a way as any to end today’s post. Have a great weekend, everyone!
Teddy made me smile.
Sorry for the heat
