Song of the day:
Video of the day:
I see you, September…
So on the first day of September a horrifying law went into effect in Texas and the United States Supreme Court basically said, yeah. We don’t care. And now thousands upon thousands of women will be unable to manage their own health care, will be attacked and sued and who knows what else, and all because a bunch of white men (and a whole bunch of white women, too - UGH), couldn't stand the idea that they should have a say in what happens to their bodies.
Honestly, what year is it?!
Meanwhile, it’s perfectly fine in to get a gun and carry it without a permit in Texas. It’s perfectly fine to prohibit mask mandates. Because heaven forbid we take away THOSE freedoms. No, we only want to take away the freedoms of women. I’m wholly disgusted.
And I know that some of you that read this blog are anti-abortion. That’s your right. I would hope no one ever has to make that choice because it is by no means an easy one. I personally don’t believe the government should have any say in the matter.
And let’s forget for a moment that women - GIRLS - who are raped may have to carry babies to term. Let’s forget for a moment that pregnancy can make someone ill to the point of death. Let’s forget for a moment that what goes right along with this is the inability to get good healthcare and counseling, and you know who that impacts more than anyone else? Oh that’s right, women of color and those who attempt to make a living with the sad excuse for a minimum wage we have in this country.
And make no mistake, people will still get abortions. They will go to other states if they have the means or they will get them in back rooms and dark alleys and put themselves at even greater risk.
Again I ask, what year is it?!
And y’all, this is only the beginning. I saw a graphic today that showed the number of states who have requested that the Supreme Court overturn Roe vs Wade. It was shocking. And the more Republican leadership we have in this country, the more likely that is of happening.

Does this impact me personally? No. I’m in menopause. But that doesn’t matter. It’s a terrible, discriminatory and downright evil law, and I pray that something happens to overturn it.
And don’t even get me started on how there is NO penalty or punishment for those who GET these women pregnant…honestly…
WHAT YEAR IS IT???!!!!
In better news…
Colorado is finally getting on the right page with their indictments related to the horrifying death of Elijah McLain. I pray that justice is served.
