Video of the day:
I forgot…
A little over a week ago I embarked on five straight days of doing things, some by myself and some with others. And frankly, it was a lot. I forgot what it felt like to be busy, to get home late and have to get up the next morning. I forgot to let my body know we’d be ramping things up, and it betrayed me for a couple of days after the fact. I forgot to remind myself that I’m not 20 years old anymore, or 30, or even 40. Heck, I’m not even 50 anymore! I forgot that transitioning back to what used to be the norm was gonna be hard. And so, that’s why there were no posts last week. I was just plain exhausted. But it sure was a lot of fun.
Since my last post I think I’ve been to three hockey games; two musicals with friends; a movie; a mani/pedi; a facial; and oh yeah, there was also work! I probably should have spread things out a bit more rather than cramming everything into one week, but alas, here we are. The good thing is, the next three weeks are short weeks at work so that should help. Also, the Sharks are on a road trip until the 20th so there’s no hockey either. I’m hoping to find a little time to rest but I don’t know how feasible that will be. I’ve already got a lot of plans from now until December, but I think they’re at least a bit more spread out. Maybe.
Anyway, I’m hoping to get back into the habit of daily posts. I do have a lot of fun with this, and I’ve heard from a number of you that enjoy reading, so I’ll do my best. But if I miss a day, just know that something had to give and it was this.
Oh, and yes, I’ve decided it’s okay to start the Christmas music. I normally don’t start until after Thanksgiving but you know what? It’s been a long year and we all need the festiveness. Also, two of my favorites released Christmas albums in the last couple of weeks and it seemed weird to wait to listen to them. Plus, it’s my blog and I do what I want. 😄
I need to add a quick shout out to my friend Jim today - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
Also, my dad turned 79 last week and I missed shouting him out as well - so, HAPPY BIRTHDAY (again)!!
I think that’s it for now…have a great day, everyone and I’ll see you back here tomorrow!
