Song of the day:
Happy Monday!
I went to my office to get some work done yesterday and found this magic on my calendar, which clearly means I will NOT be entering my kitchen today. I mean there’s no need to risk it, right?
This calendar also reminded me that tomorrow is Flag Day, also known as the anniversary of my friends Jenn and Eric. I don’t think they read this blog but just in case…Happy Anniversary!
This calendar is wild. I bought it on a whim because I always find the national day thing funny. It was also super cheap. Last Friday was National Ballpoint Pen day so my staff and I did this:
I love that my staff goes along with my crazy ideas…most of the time anyway. A while back we also celebrated National Look Up at the Sky Day…you know you wish you worked for me so you could have this kind of fun. :-)
This pic kinda made me sad because two of these folks no longer work for me. They moved on to other positions on campus that gave them new opportunities so I can’t fault them for that. I’m just sad for us. But, I’ve got a whole bunch of applications to review for one of the positions and the other will be posting soon, so we’ll bring some new people into our group and hope they appreciate this kind of fun.
So what’s been going on?
If you’re wondering why there were no posts last week well, you’re not alone. I don’t know either. I just wasn’t feeling it I guess. My allergies were horrible so my sleep was horrible and well, there you go. Here’s a quick recap:
My Top Gun Maverick viewing total is now at four; if you haven’t seen this movie yet, what are you waiting for?!
I started and finished a great YA novel by Kasie West called Places We’ve Never Been. I’ve read all of her books and this one is definitely one of my favorites.
I started and have almost finished a collection of short stories called Stories from Quarantine. The stories were written and published in the New York Times in the early days of the pandemic. I highly recommend checking it out.
My work week was thrown off because I had to go in on Monday (I normally work from home on Monday and Tuesday) and so then I swapped out Thursday so I was in the office M-W-F and at home T-Th. I think that messed me up, too.
I bought an amazing new LEGO set - Van Gogh’s The Starry Night - and started building it Friday night. This was after fixing my LEGO Space Shuttle Discovery that had accidentally been knocked off its shelf about seven months ago. It was painful but I got it repaired and back to (mostly) normal. There were some random extra parts that ended up in the shuttle bay and well, that’s just how it goes sometimes. Spaceships are tricky. And yes, I was watching Turning Red while fixing it. You can see the auntie pandas on my TV.
Anyway, I guess I’d better get going on my work day. I may or may not still be sitting on my bed in my pajamas. Hope you have a fabulous Monday and a great week ahead!
