Song of the day:
Video of the day (this may make more sense after you read my updates below):
Happy Monday!
First and foremost, an update on my neighbor Mike…this came in last Wednesday evening…he was extubated that day - yay! - and is doing well. He will need to do some rehab, which has not been finalized yet, but honestly, this is a true miracle. It’s been three week ago today that he fell and it seems like he is now on the road to recovery. It’s going to be a long road, but it’s definitely good news. Thank you again to those who took the time to pray. It definitely worked. God is so, so good.
Weekend Fun
This weekend was the most normal weekend I’ve had since March 2020. On Saturday I drove to a restaurant and ate inside. Yes. It happened. Now, to be fair, I went at what I knew would be a less busy time, but it was one of the most relaxing and delicious meals I’ve had in quite some time. After that I ran some errands, which is not all that interesting, but later that day I went to the movie. In the theatre. Where there were people. I wore my mask the entire time and was grateful that the seats on either side of me were empty, but it was still a good experience. So good, in fact, that I went again yesterday. I can’t tell you how great it was to watch movies on the big screen again. I’d missed it more than I realized. I’ve watched a lot of movies on TV this last however many months it’s been, and I’ve enjoyed that, but inevitably, I will multitask while watching. It’s rare that I simply watch. So, I’ll probably start doing that more frequently now, though I will be mindful of the movie times and try to avoid the big crowds.
Oh, what did I see?
Black Widow - I honestly wasn’t that excited about this movie when I first saw the previews. I don’t know why. I guess I never felt like I needed the backstory. But I’m now here to tell you that it was fantastic! So much better than I expected. It was the perfect first movie back in the theatre.
F9: The Fast Saga - This movie was ridiculous. And I loved it. I appreciate that they own how ridiculous the series has become and go all out, jumping every possible shark there is to jump. I mean they went to space in a car. Really? But I couldn’t help but laugh. And then they made me cry at the end, which I was absolutely not expecting. The video I linked above is from the movie before this one…after Paul Walker died.
Anyway, it was a fun weekend, which I needed heading into this unbelievably busy week at work.
Have a great day!
Wow, I haven't heard "In the Living Years" in ages! I'd forgotten about Mike & the Mechanics!
