Video of the day:
I had a whole blog post written for Tuesday but got distracted and never finished. And then the week got a little crazy so there were no blogs until today.
Tuesday evening I learned that my upstairs neighbor fell down the stairs leading up to his apartment. He hit his head on either the concrete or the large air conditioning unit at the bottom of the stairs, my neighbor wasn’t sure, but he ended up in the hospital with a severe brain bleed. Another neighbor found him and called 9-1-1. I was home but heard none of this happening. She told me he was confused and thought it was a date in the past. He’s been in the hospital since, unresponsive, but the bleed doesn’t seem to be growing, which is good. They can’t do any other tests until that has subsided. His sister-in-law has been keeping us updated but it’s awful. I’ve known him since I moved here over 10 years ago, and he’s always been the best neighbor. He makes sure my packages aren’t sitting outside when I’m not here, and he always lets me know if something is amiss. If you are a person who prays, Mike could use your prayers.
Wednesday I woke up with what felt like a summer cold. In my mind I knew it was allergies but I was miserable all day. I even took a 45-minute nap in the middle of the afternoon. It’s been quite some time since they hit me that hard. Thankfully I felt better yesterday though I would still prefer to avoid the outside forever.
Last night’s joy was the Vegas Knights losing in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Sure, the Sharks have been out since basically December of 2019, but it’s always good to see that team lose. I will definitely be cheering for Montreal to win it all. Maybe it’s time The Cup went back to Canada for a while. At least until it’s time for the Sharks to win.
But today is Friday, and that’s never a bad thing. I’ve got a virtual paint night this evening, and hope to finish building my Space Shuttle LEGO set over the weekend…we’ll see if the missing part is delivered in time.
I hope you all have a good and safe weekend. I’ll try to get back on track with the blogs next week but I make no promises.
Until then I’ll leave you with this excellent graphic I found on LinkedIn…I think it makes it pretty clear why what we need is justice, not equality or equity. Justice.
Katie was also super excited about all the music that dropped at midnight! I’m sure I’ll hear all about it when she gets up. 😂
