Song of the day:
It’s Christmas Eve, 2024, and what a year it’s been. Ups, downs, highs, lows, and everything in between. It’s my first Christmas in our new place, and that’s been fun. We’re decorated to the hilt, and are enjoying seeing the decorations around our neighborhood, too. Everyone seems pretty festive here, which is nice, especially since we will NOT be having a white Christmas (boo).
We’re keeping our Christmas celebration pretty low key - movie (Mufasa), eating out (today and tomorrow) - snacking and watching hours upon hours of holiday cheer on TV, plus a little football. I’m looking forward to it. Now, up until this week we have had a LOT going on. It’s been an extremely busy month. Here’s a quick recap since my last post…
Movies (in the theatre; can’t even being to count how many Hallmark and other holiday movies we’ve watched on TV…not including those here)
Moana 2 - not as good as the first, but I still absolutely loved it!
RM: Right People, Wrong Place - super interesting documentary about the making of RM’s (of BTS) album; I loved it!
Love Actually - AMC put this back in theaters every Tuesday this month - so fun to see it on the big screen again! is it problematic in places? sure, but it’s the nostalgia for me…
Concerts
Mannheim Steamroller - so good!! brought back tons of memories - full of nostalgia!
Leslie Odom, Jr. - good, but the backing orchestra was too loud, and that was disappointing; he sounded amazing though
Brendan James - fantastic as always!!
Shows
Funny Girl - not my favorite show, but the cast was fantastic.
The Nutcracker (saw this one with my dear friend Tasha) - so good!!
Books
A Summer to Remember by Erika Montgomery - enjoyed this one; 4 stars
One More Seat at the Round Table by Susan Dormady Eisenberg - super interesting; learned a lot; 4 stars

However you choose to celebrate, be it Christmas (12/25), Hanukkah (12/25-1/2), Kwanzaa (12/26-1/1) or something else entirely; or if you choose not to celebrate at all - a completely valid choice - I wish you joy, peace and hope. We must do our very best to carry these into the new year.
Videos of the day:
No white Christmas here. Maybe next week we could see some snow. Most unusual this time of year. I'm sure next month we change things.
Enjoy tomorrow morning and all day. We will have a 2pm meal with several who live in the apt. complex. It will be next door on the first floor. May have to look in on a football game at Jacks later and the next day.
