Today marks my 23rd anniversary in the CSU system. Most of that time has been spent at SJSU with a short detour in the middle to CSU East Bay. In that time I’ve…

• Worked under 8 different presidents (1 of them at both SJSU and East Bay; 1 of them on 3 different occasions at SJSU)

• Had 8 different direct managers (1 of them on 3 different occasions at both SJSU and East Bay)

• Worked in 7 different buildings between the 2 campuses (3 of them in 2 different offices)

• Had numerous exceptional staff reporting to me

• Implemented countless modules of PeopleSoft

• Trained hundreds of faculty, staff and students

• Answered thousands (millions?) of emails

• Met some incredible people

• Made some wonderful friendships

• Learned a lot!

In my 23 years I’ve visited almost all 23 campuses…maybe I’ll get to the others before I retire. Looking back I should have set a goal of visiting one per year but I’m not certain I thought I’d be here this long. I’ve marked with an ‘x’ those I’ve visited. SJSU and East Bay are not included since I mentioned those above. As you can see, I’ve still got a few stops to make so retirement will have to wait.
