Songs of the day:
Good Friday…
As a Christian, today is an important day. It marks the day that Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sins. Sunday is Easter, the day that marks His resurrection. Believing in and following Jesus is how I make it through the days that aren’t so good. Days like the one in Tennessee where another shooter took the lives of innocent children and adults. Those are hard days, and it’s difficult to find the good. Those are the days when I have to look to Jesus and believe that He has a plan. And yes, I’d love to know what that plan is because we have lost far too many people this way, and there is a lot of bad all over the world. Things feel like they’re spinning out of control a lot of the time, and for me, Jesus is what keeps me grounded.
However you celebrate this weekend, whether it’s by going to church services, having an egg hunt, or getting brunch with friends, I hope you enjoy every moment. We don’t get a lot of moments on this earth so make the most of every one you get.
If I sound a bit melancholy it’s because I am.
As some of you know, my mom’s husband Frank was moved to hospice care earlier this week. It was not an easy decision, but it was the right one. Thankfully he didn’t have to physically move and could stay in the memory care facility he’s been in since December, but it has definitely caused us to refocus our thinking. I’ll be flying to Colorado on Easter morning to help and support my mom as well as visit with Frank as much as I can.
So far there hasn’t been much change in his condition since this decision was made on Monday. We know that people in hospice sometimes live for many months, but many times it’s days or weeks. But we’re not in control, and that’s both comforting and frustrating. Right now we’re all taking things day by day.
If you are the praying kind, your prayers are most welcome.
And finally, as some of you saw on my Instagram post yesterday, I had some medical tests done to evaluate how my lungs are doing. The breathing test and the chest CT scan were ordered by the pulmonologist I met with last month after my asthma flared up due to my bout with COVID. I hope to hear from the doctor today to see what the next steps are. There is still some lingering fatigue and a few asthma flare-ups, but overall I’m doing fine.
So to end this on a happy note, please enjoy this LEGO Easter basket I built last night.

Happy Easter, everyone…
Will pray your time in Denver goes well.
