1926, Virginia (Toni) Carabillo was born. She supported activism in behalf of women’s issues, active in National Organization for Women (1968-87), co-authored the Feminist Chronicles 1953-1993.
1930, Sandra Day O’Connor, first woman U.S. Supreme Court Justice (1981), was born.
1940, Nancy Pelosi, first woman Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives (2007-09), Democratic California representative from 1987 to present.
1944, Grammy award winning singer/actress Diana Ross was born. She became the lead singer of The Supremes, Motown's most successful act during the 1960s and one of the world's best-selling girl groups of all time. They remain the best-charting female group in US history, with a total of twelve number-one hit singles on the US Billboard Hot 100.
Y’all, it’s been a long week, but it’s finally Friday. Which means the weekend starts at 5pm. Consequently, that is the exact same time I’ll be watching Switchfoot’s monthly online concert. That’s the best way to end a week if you ask me. Especially a week like this.
