First and foremost, Happy Father’s Day to my dad…who I don’t get to see nearly enough, but hope to see more of when I move closer next month…

And to my stepfather who is no longer with us, but still in my heart every day…

To all my friends who are fathers and stepfathers and father figures…wishing you all a Happy Father’s Day as well.
For many of you, however, I know this is not an easy day, and sometimes you can’t escape all the messages about fathers and how it’s supposed to be a happy day. To all those who have lost their fathers, stepfathers and father figures, to those who never knew their father, and to those whose father wasn’t kind: I wish for you a day of peace.
To round out this short post today, I leave you with U2 singing their song Kite, live at Slane Castle in Ireland. This concert took place shortly after the death of lead singer Bono’s father, and the emotions are raw. I have always found it to be one of their most beautiful performances and wanted to share it with you today.
Okay. I realize that was kind of heavy so let me actually leave you with this…one of my dad’s favorites…this is a recent performance of the classic Men Without Hats song from the 80s…you can see the original video for the song here…enjoy!
