Song of the day:
It’s always a good day when Ed releases a new song…can’t wait for the album even if it’s as sad as this song…still, so good!
I’ve written about my love for Ed before, in one space or another, but it’s always worth repeating. I’v been a fan since the beginning, since before the first album came out. I Shazam’d a song playing in, I believe, The Vampire Diaries, and it was Fall from an EP Ed put out, and I was hooked. I got the whole EP and listened to those handful of songs over and over again. When the album came out I got it right away and played those songs - some of which were on the EP - over and over again as well.
My friend Raquel invited me to join her at a radio event for Ed, and I got to see him play live for the first time in the tiniest of venues in San Francisco. And then again at a tiny venue in Emeryville. We saw him at two other radio shows a couple of years later as well, and there will never be anything like those moments. I’ve seen him at The Warfield, The Greek in Berkeley, arenas in San Jose, Oakland, and Vegas, and later this year I’ll see him stand in the middle of Levi’s Stadium with a guitar and a loop pedal and I absolutely cannot wait. The man is truly gifted and is one of the best singer songwriters of our time. He also loves LEGO so you know, we’re clearly kindred spirits.
I’m excited about the new Disney+ Docuseries, The Sum Of It All, coming in May. He recently did an interview with Rolling Stone that was incredibly honest. He was open about what he’s been struggling with, the loss of friends, a scare with his wife, and his two daughters. I expect the docuseries will be more of the same and it appears his wife has some screen time as well.
I truly can’t have enough Ed Sheeran in my life and cannot wait for the new album. If it’s anything like this first single, it’s going to be ridiculously good.

I love using Shazam!
