Yesterday was my mom’s birthday and I am thrilled I was able to celebrate with her. We had a great day that involved a lot of great food, from a delicious Village Inn breakfast to a traditional steak dinner at Outback. There were flowers and presents and cake (some real, which I could not eat, and some made of paper, which was not eaten by anyone), there was good conversation, and to top it off we watched Come From Away on Apple TV. All in all it was an excellent day.
Also, here’s one of a million or so geese I’ve seen loitering all over this town.
Tomorrow we will celebrate Mother’s Day, and I know how blessed I am to still get to do that with my mom. But I know that for many of you this is a hard day because you’ve lost your mom (or mother figure) or don’t have a good relationship with her or never really knew her. I can’t imagine the pain this time of year brings, and I send you tons of light and love and a wish for a day of peace.
Glad the time went well
