Back to work…
After being on vacation for two weeks it’s time to get back to reality. It’s always hard to transition back into things but thankfully I’m working from home today and tomorrow so that should help. Still, it’s been extremely nice to have this time away. Things had become a little crazy toward the end of the year and it was good to shut things down for a bit. I’m sure some of you have already been back at work, some are also going back to today, and some have another week to think about it. Honestly, it’s hard to imagine going back to campus with Omicron running amok, but I will head into my office on Wednesday and see how things go. It’s a crazy time we’re living in, and it seems to get a little crazier every day. I saw something this morning about the first case of someone with both the flu and COVID at the same time - like, really? That’s a thing that could happen? Good grief. That wasn’t in the US, but it’s out there and clearly possible. I’d like to forget I ever saw that.
Betty White
I don’t know about you but I’m still thinking about Betty White and her genius. I’ve watched so many clips of various shows and still can’t believe she’s gone. It actually seemed like she might live forever. Last night Hallmark aired one of my favorite movies, The Lost Valentine, starring Betty and a few other famous faces. But she was the star and was absolutely perfect in the role. If you haven’t seen it, I’m sure it will play again around Valentine’s Day…it’s definitely worth your time. But be warned, it’s not a comedic role; it’s one of the rare dramatic roles she played in her career. You might want some tissue.
And finally…
Here’s a fun memory that popped up yesterday from six years ago when ASU played WVU in a bowl game in Arizona. I met up with college friends Amy and Robyn, and their sons, to cheer on the Sun Devils. Okay, I was cheering for both teams but even though I went to both schools, ASU is always number one for me. Anyway, I love this photo we took on the way to the game and cherish the memories of that day.
Have a great day!
