Song of the day:
Video of the day:
Things aren’t quite finalized yet but we know that Georgia gained one new senator last night in Reverend Raphael Warnock. He’s the first Black senator from Georgia, which is fantastic. I’m excited to see what he will do. The other race is still too close to call but many are predicting that Ossoff is going to pull out the win. I won’t hold my breath on that but hopefully we’ll have a declaration on that race soon.
Today is another historic day in the country, one in which the electoral votes are certified. This is something that happens in every election but quite honestly, this is the first year I knew it was even a thing. It’s always been more ceremonial than anything but now it seems like the most important thing. There is pressure all over the place, but I’m praying that it moves forward without a hitch. There’s already been a lot of protesting and fighting in Washington D.C., which is terrible, and I hope and pray that no one is seriously hurt.
Tomorrow should look different. We should be able to exhale a little more easily. There is much work to be done but I believe we’re getting the right people in office to get started.
Until next time…
