Song of the day:
Video of the day:
Mac Powell, former lead singer of Third Day (one of my all-time favorite bands), is releasing a new solo album and this is the first single. It’s so so good. His voice is ridiculous.
A bunch of randomness…
I neglected to include a big YAY in yesterday’s post so I’ll include it now: YAY, California for NOT recalling our governor! And a big BOO to the people who made us go through this wholly unnecessary, stressful and expensive exercise. I think there should be new rules for recalls - if you want to have one, you get to pay for it. My guess is people would think twice. This cost our state over $200 million. That’s absolutely absurd.
I haven’t let you know of any weird injuries/accidents in a while because well, after falling from that chair last summer I’ve been extra careful. Or lucky. Not sure which. Until last night that is. I was eating in a restaurant - inside because it was pretty empty and a little too breezy outside - and when I went to scoot the chair up it got caught on the carpet and yes, you guessed it, it fell backward. With me in it. I didn’t break anything but my whole left side is pretty sore, so that’s fun. I mean let’s be honest, after a year of no injuries it was only a matter of time.
Hockey starts this month. It’s pre-season but still. HOCKEY. And here in my county, only those who are fully vaccinated are allowed to go in person. It pleases me greatly. I know the Sharks aren’t going to be great but that doesn't mean I’m any less excited about going. I mean I bought new Sharks masks and everything! The real season starts in October but it’s pretty to cool to think about going to a game this month. THIS MONTH!!
My friend Amanda opened her own online art shop this week, Crafted on Canvas, and I encourage you to check it out!! She is extremely talented and puts her heart and soul into every piece she creates. I bought this great bag today!
My friend Stephanie is opening an AR Workshop in Santa Clara and is having her grand opening on October 2! AR Workshop is a DIY workshop where you can make wood signs and home accessories, chunky knit blankets, canvas wall hangings and more! If you’re in the Bay Area, register for the grand opening now!
I think by now y’all know I love to read. I finished Her New Story by Laura Bradford last night, the latest in her Amish Women’s Fiction collection, and it was great, as all the books in the collection are. I’m not sure what’s up next in my pile of unread books but I’ll figure that out soon. I’d love to know what you’re reading…let me know in the comments!
Okay, I think that’s enough randomness for today. Feel free to share your own randomness in the comments.
Sorry to hear about the fall..how are you doing now? Thanks for sharing the new song. Is this on an album/CD?
Great to hear about the Shark games and masks.
We still have not heard about our covid test-crazy.
Sounds like your friends are very creative and willing to take a chance. There is no substitute for and adventure like they are taking.
The smoke is temporally out of our valley which make it nice for walking.
Beginning to get ready for the long trip to Rapid City (retreat), Spearfish, Chadron, NE, Powell, WY and stopping for a night in Idaho Falls. ID and back to Boise.(2300 miles approx.) Leave the 23rd and return on Oct. 3. Looking forward to seeing the Tetons and Black Hills. You know what the rest looks like in Wyoming.
Will make it out to CA eventually hopefully.
Something I thought about recently: Love is always complicated, and not so complicated.
