Song of the day:
How is Christmas one week away? I’m still not clear how 2023 flew by so quickly. To be fair, I lost an entire month because of COVID so maybe that’s part of it. I remember when I was a kid people would tell us to enjoy the time because it would go by faster when we got older. None of us ever believed that because time is time, but wow, did that ever turn out to be true!
Anyway…hope you had a great weekend and that you’re ready for the holidays, however you celebrate - or don’t celebrate. I actually finished my Christmas letter Friday night then spent the rest of the weekend signing cards, labeling and stamping envelopes, and folding and stuffing the letters. So, most of you should get your cards by Christmas - if you’re on the list that is. This is all provided I get them to the post office at some point today, of course.
I love Christmas cards and have already received quite a few. Thanks to those of you who take the time to send them. And if you don’t send them? That’s perfectly okay, too. I know it’s a chore. I usually keep the cards around until the next year then look at them all over again before I empty my card container and await the new arrivals.
I didn’t do much else this weekend, other than enjoy a mani pedi, which was interesting with my foot injury, but it all worked out okay. And now my toes are festive! Also, if you like nail polish, I can’t recommend NOW polish enough. You can find it here. They also sell eye liner and hand sanitizer.
There are just four work days this week - two at home, two in the office - as our campus will be closed starting Friday. It’s always so nice to have the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day off, and the past few years I’ve also taken the first week of January off to extend the break a little longer. This year is no exception. I’ll be off through January 9, so about two and a half weeks total. I hope you are all able to enjoy a little time away from your work this time of year. I think it’s important for everyone to have a break.
That said, I better get to work as there is still a lot to get done this week. Have a great Monday, and I’ll see you back here soon…
